2 construction workers injured, sent to Bellevue Hospital

It is no secret that construction workers face hazards on the job. These hazards can often be considerable, but there are safety guidelines in place to help keep these workers safe. Even when safety procedures are followed, accidents can still occur. Whether safety protocol was followed or not in a recent accident hasn't been released; however, the accident did send two construction workers to the hospital.

The accident happened while workers were at 317 Madison Ave. near Grand Central Terminal. The second-floor ceiling partially collapsed while the two construction workers were working on the job at hand, noted the New York Fire Department.

The two construction workers were taken to Bellevue Hospital. One was in critical condition and the other was in serious condition, noted a representative of FDNY. A representative for the construction company gave a different account.

The representative for Tishman Construction claims the ceiling didn't collapse and that the workers were expected to be released from the hospital on the same day as the accident occurred. He noted the workers were doing well.

Regardless of which account of the accident is correct, the fact remains that two workers were injured on the job site. Their injuries were serious enough to send them to the hospital. Now, they might start to get medical bills in the mail. They might even have to miss more work, which may mean a decrease in pay.

Any construction worker who is injured in an accident on the job site might opt to seek workers' compensation for the accident. It is vital that anyone seeking compensation understand his or her rights and responsibilities pertaining to the case.
