Multiple NYC wrecks highlight some car accident factors

Two car accidents in New York City left multiple people with injuries and one of those injured people in a very serious situation.

In the first wreck, two vehicles collided at an intersection. One of the vehicles was tossed into a light pole, which gives you an idea of how tremendous the impact was. One of the drivers involved in the wreck had to flee his vehicle after it caught fire and, unfortunately, that driver was listed in "grave" condition at a hospital later. The other driver involved was listed in stable condition.

The other wreck also involved two vehicles, but there are very few details available about the specifics of the crash. The two drivers are in stable condition.

There are a couple of things to learn from these wrecks. The first is that the police are investigating the wrecks, and this investigation can take much longer than the accident victims may think. Some people may think (or expect) that the investigation will be complete in hours or mere days. But sometimes, these investigations can take weeks, Accident victims need to be patient in the wake of a car crash.

The other element to consider here is that intersections are where many car accidents occur, and understandably so. There's a lot going on at an intersection, and the drivers on the road need to be prepared to handle a number of things at them. Street lights, traffic signs, pedestrians, bikers, other cars, distractions, turning vehicles, bigger vehicles -- all of these things will flash by and be trying to make their maneuvers or take their actions at an intersection. It may be busy, but that’s no excuse for causing an accident.
